Vehicles operating on LPG (Autogas) create 10 ~ 20 per cent less greenhouse gases than those using conventional fuels. Furthermore LPG is clean burning and has lower gas emissions than any other fossil fuel when measured on a total fuel cycle. LPG vehicles are producing less tail pipe gases than similar vehicles using conventional fuels.

For this reason in many countries all over the world LPG fuel subsidies, conversion cost subsidies or vehicle tax benefits are in place offered by Federal and/or Local Governments to encourage motorists to make use of this environmentally friendlier fuel.
